The ongoing Indie Press Series highlights the work of great small and independent publishers. Founded in 1975, Persea Books is an independent literary publishing house which has produced hundreds of engaging and consequential books by authors including Anzia Yezierska, Oscar Hijuelos, Nazim Hikmet, and Paul Celan. Poetry is a major part of Persea's mission, and this evening seven of Persea's outstanding poets will read together. Persea poetry editor Gabriel Fried, himself a celebrated poet, will be on hand to introduce his stable of authors. Join us for an evening with some of the best and brightest in the world of contemporary poetry.
