Film festivals have been around for a long time. You can find them in almost every major city and in all sizes and genres. But if you look deep you will find they all follow the same basics. Screen the films, do Q & A, hold parties and give awards. But how many truly care about the indie film arts? How many are really there to showcase Indie Filmmakers and other Independent Artists, support the community and provide an entertaining schedule that's both affordable and exciting for everyone?
That's where INDIE FEST USA 2009 breaks the mold. At other film festivals, high ticket and pass prices mean less can afford to attend; limiting selections to films who have won awards limits the screening availability to the other thousands of filmmakers with equally great films just starting out. INDIE FEST USA 2009 combines seven great days of independent films, plus live music artists, celebrities add the opening night welcome party and closing night awards show and After Party. But we don't stop there! We join great indie films with local community indie bands and artists, each sharing their talents and having a great time networking. Add our special invites and long contact list within the major motion picture industry including distribution and acquisition executives, studio executives and ancillary markets, and you've got a festival that really stands out in the large crowd of film festivals, and truly showcases the independent filmmaker!
Indie Fest USA 2009 is going to open this year with a Home Entertainment and Video Gaming Expo at the Disneyland Hotel, and Music competitions in the Northwest Parking lot. Sunday August 23, is Media Day, Indie Fest USA Music Competition will be joined by Grindco Entertainments Motopsycho Mania. We are expecting 3500 to 4000 people at media day.
Monday will get the Film portion under way with our opening seminar A Day with Bobbie Chance and our screenings beginning at 4:30 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we will complete our Music competitions 10:00 am with a Headlining act winding up the show each day at 4:15 pm, sending the crowds to the theaters for the screenings. Wednesday Night we will be having a concert at (TBA) kicking off at 9:00 pm with TBA taking the stage after the completion of the final screening for the evening. Fridays warm-up Band will take the stage in front of the AMC 12 theaters at 6:45 pm, with Xavier Toscano taking the stage at 7:15 pm, Red Carpet will begin at 6:45 pm, Celeb/VIP arrivals will begin curbside at 5:00 pm, taken to the green room and then will come back out for the walk to the Awards Show. Awards show begins at 8:00 pm Xavier Toscano will perform 2 intermissions, Awards show will end with the Disneyland Fireworks at 9:30, then down to the House of Blues, where the Celebrities, VIPs, Filmmakers and competitors will walk the Red Carpet for the last time on the Rose Terrace, as they enter the Main Auditorium for our After party with local warm-up band beginning at 9:15 pm, Sorry Nelson at 10:00 pm with (TBA ) taking the stage at 11:15 pm.
