1200 Vale Terrace Drive
Vista, California 92084

Vista city officials are finalizing details for the annual fireworks display that will light up the sky on Friday. The annual Independence Day Celebration held in Brengle Terrace Park, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, is free to the public with fireworks scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Parking is $5 per vehicle at the park. Parking and shuttle services are available at no charge from Vista High School, One Panther Way, Vista.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the generous property donation from Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brengle to create a diverse City park for children and families to enjoy. Brengle Terrace Park is the 56 acre city gem that houses nature, culture, sporting facilities and memories for Vista residents. In honor of their parents gift, the Brengle family will be honored as Grand Marshalls of the 2008 Independence Day Celebration.

The park gates open at 7:00 a.m. with a day full of family-friendly activities scheduled with food and beverage booths, picnicking and a static display of vintage military equipment. Guests can enjoy live musical entertainment at the Moonlight Amphitheatre from 3:15 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., featuring Rising Star.

A fundraising gourmet BBQ, catered by Hennesseys, will precede the fireworks display. Dinner includes: reserved parking adjacent to the amphitheatre; a gourmet barbecue dinner with beverages; and reserved seating in the Moonlight Amphitheatre for San Diego Countys largest aerial fireworks display scheduled for 9:00 p.m. Dinner is $65 per person or $500 for a table of eight. Dinner seating begins at 5:30 p.m. with service from 6-7:30 p.m. Reservations are required for dinner. Call (760) 726-1340 ext. 1571 to make reservations.

The community is asked to keep household pets at home and be sure they are secured safely during the fireworks display. If pets are brought to the park, they must be on a leash and have current license tags displayed on their collar.
