A ‘legendary’ journey through the groves of the Arnold Arboretum, Beginning at the Hunnewell Building, 125 the Arborway, Jamaica Plain, MA and continuing through the groves of the Arboretum

Join award-winning storyteller Diane Edgecomb and Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain for a Story and Music Journey through the enchanting groves of the Arnold Arboretum. As twilight descends we'll stroll through cherry, evergreen and birch groves ~ celebrating trees with legends, songs and music from many lands. This Summer Solstice event is appropriate for adults, and families with older children (suggested 12 and above) The journey takes place Friday June 19th and Saturday June 20th at 6:30 pm. In case of rain, additional Solstice legends will be added to the performance and it will be held indoors at the Arboretum's Hunnewell building. Reserve Early! Space is limited and last year's event was sold out!

This enchanting evening of tree myths from around the world was designed specifically for the Arboretum and takes us to some of its loveliest spots. Stories and music are drawn from the rich cultural traditions of Japan, Wales, England, Australia and Native America. The evening culminates with the haunting Czech legend “The Wild Woman of the Birch Grove” told among the birches of Bussey Hill at sunset. . Bring a cushion to sit on if you wish. The journey will be approximately two miles on and off trails.
