MIA curators have selected works from the permanent collection that illustrate the concepts about "masterpieces" explored in 'The Louvre and the Masterpiece.' The curators reviewed the permanent collection, considering artworks' formal aesthetic qualities, significance, and history and reputation before and after entering the MIA's collection. The exhibition also provides opportunities to compare and contrast a masterpiece in context.
