The women of Sweet Honey In The Rock gave collective birth in Washington, D.C., to a song workshop for African American women. It was 1980. The workshop took the name 'In Process.' Over the years, more than fifty African American women, of different political, economic, and social backgrounds, have embraced the opportunity to sing, learn, and share a space in the circle of Sweet Honey and In Process.
