New Face Of Africa Series

The film introduces us to eight people in Kenya who were born with the condition known as albinism, which expresses itself primarily as a shortage or lack of pigment in the skin.
Labeled with the common English term, "albino," or the Swahili word for foreigner or white person, "mzungu," these people have grown up enduring the ignorant suspicion, condescension, and contempt of those around them. Unlike, say, Swedes who suffer from the same condition, their pale appearance is made much more noticeable in contrast to their predominately dark-skinned neighbors and relatives.
