Riverside Theatres presents
In Harmony
Sunday 21 March at 3pm
One Performance Only

Sharing stories of cultural diversity through song
In Harmony is sharing stories through song in a celebration of social and cultural diversity. This year the In Harmony showcase concert is on at Riverside Theatres on Sunday March 21 at 3pm.
In Harmony’s ethos for their performance is that sharing stories of people and place reflects the wealth of cultural heritage in our communities and enables people to find commonality, form connections and realise a sense of belonging. The In Harmony choir shares narrative in native language song
cycles.

Artistic Director, Rachelle Elliott said "Riverside Theatre is a terrific venue to present In Harmony annually. The stage accommodates over 150 singers who have ethnic origins from all over the world. With many performers wearing traditional costumes, the visual feast compliments the eclectic program of music. We have been overwhelmed and encouraged by the enthusiastic response from previous audiences to the In Harmony Concert and concept."

In Harmony features groups, Lõke, an Estonian ensemble; A.C.A.P.O.E.I.R.A, a Brazilian Capoeirista and Hunter Singers, new Australian works. Guest conductors include Ansa Fourie, Kieran Scott and Kim Sutherland.

The showcase concert is the culmination of workshops attended by the choral members. In Harmony attracts singers from all ages, areas of Sydney and level of singing experience. The workshops teach the singers about the musical culture of different countries and the different languages in which they sing. Up to one hundred and seventy singers have participated each year in the workshops.
