This notorious Spanish art-horror film is the story of a former Nazi doctor and torturer, now in-hiding and confined to an iron lung. His new nurse, Angelo, turns out to be someone who witnessed one of his worst crimes, and the cycle of human evil begins to repeat itself – but not in the way you might expect. Highly stylized imagery, ice-cold performances and way-beyond-disturbing subject matter combine to create an entirely amoral universe and cinematic endurance test. (1987, 110 min, 35mm)
