Los Angeles, California

The third installment of IMPRO(vs)TANDUP is Friday, October 19 at Nerdist Showroom in L.A. IMPRO(vs)TANDUP pits two teams of professional comedic talent – one improv group and one gaggle of stand-ups – in a cross-genre test of cleverness.

This month’s match-up starts with improv team I’m Hungee with Nick Mandernach (College Humor, Funny or Die) and Rene Gube (Community, Up All Night). They will be pitted against stand-ups Jimmy Dore (Comedy Central, Jimmy Kimmel Live), Jonathan Kite (2 Broke Girls), and Taylor Williamson (Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central).

Each night's audience decides which craft will take home the prize after watching gold-standard long-form improv, heat-throwing stand-up sets, and then, role reversal.

The format and show was created by Christian Spicer. An accredited comedian and writer, Spicer saw an opportunity to produce a unique new format. Spicer is co-hosting as well, with another well-traveled performer and writer, Rajan Dharni (who also co-produces the show). IMPRO(vs)TANDUP was recently featured on KTLA, and was invited to the 2013 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival.
