Rhythmix is proud to present a 10-week Improvisational Comedy workshop series in the theatrical style of “Who’s Line Is It Anyway and Second City”. Classes will focus on group individual dynamics with the use of theatre games; stage performance and group play. Classes are geared to open creativity in a safe theatre environment. Improvisational techniques may be applied to any creative process or to foster personal growth. The basis of the Improvisational process is Trust, Co-operation and support.

Classes will be taught Michael Bossier plus a variety of special guests including Will Durst, Johnny Steele, Mari Magaloni, and Debi Durst who will all be participating in the Rhythmix Comedy Jam on Friday night, July 8th. Michael’s credits include being director and founder The Comedy Store Players, Spaghetti Jam and Comedy Underground. Bossier is currently performing with Debi Durst in the comedy team Deb & Mike and also teaches Improvisational Comedy at SF State. Michael has studied Improvisation for over forty years with such giants as Viola Spolin from Second City, Del Close of The Committee Theatre, Paul Sills of Story Theatre and Stephen Book from the Spolin Games Institute.

Rhythmix Cultural Works (RCW) is only five minutes from downtown Oakland off Hwy 880. RCW offers a beautifully renovated 150-seat theater, art gallery and classroom as affordable space for live performances, exhibitions, arts education and cultural exchange for youth, families and adults, and strives to encourage community awareness through participation in the arts.
