Market Street Gallery of San Francisco presents an exhibition highlighting the work of 15 Bay Area printmakers in a juried show; "Impressive Impressions" from November 27th to December 22nd. This juried exhibition was guest curated by Terry Chastian and John Gruenwald of Tinhorn Press.
Of the jurors, Chastain has curated numerous exhibits dedicated to printmaking and works on paper and operates Tinhorn Public Works gallery in Hayes Valley. Gruenwald has worked for over 25 years as a master printer for other artists in many cities accross the United States and currently operates Gruenwald Press, a printmaking studio in the Mission.
The 15 artists selected for this exhibition are Meri Brin, Stacy Frank, Edward Gould, Debra Jewell, Mike Kimball, Tatiana Lyskova, Marti McKee, Ronald Newman, Andreas Nottebohm, Andrew Ogus, Sandra Oseguera, Jenny Robinson, Andrey Semyonov, Sylvia Sussman and Othmar Tobisch.
Printmaking techniques include blockprint, drypoint, etching, monotype, screenprint and more.
A reception with the artists and jurors is planned for the evening of Friday, Dec. 8th, from 6-9pm.
Market Street Gallery exhibits work of established and emerging artists of the San Francisco Bay Area. Exhibitions are held approximately 12 to 15 times a year and include almost all categories of work, including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fashion, street art, installation art and film and video media.
Located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood near the corners of Market St. and Van Ness Blvds., the gallery is one of several in the area.
