IMAGINE 1st Annual Youth in the Arts Day December 11, 2010

With limited resources available in schools today for arts programming and curriculum, IMAGINE: Youth in the Arts Day offers youth ages 8 to young adults hands on educational workshops and performance opportunities for building self-esteem and self-confidence. IMAGINE: Youth in the Arts Day culminates the series of workshops with the final event, a staged theatrical production entitled, "IMAGINE," showcasing the talent of workshop participants and an Arts Expo. The workshops take place from November 17th through December 11th at various venues. The theatrical production and Arts Expo takes place on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 5:00pm - 10:00pm at the 4-H Youth Conference Center located at 7100 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD. 20815.

The event is a collaborative effort of several nonprofit organizations and professional establishments and raises funding and technical support for a few youth arts organizations based in Maryland and Washington, DC. They are: the National Center for Children and Families; Charmione's School of Protocol; Pin Points, Inc.; and Midnight Forum Inc. Youth in the Arts Day features various educational workshops focused on critical areas such as health and nutrition, personal growth and creative development in music, theater, visual art, crafts and dance. Workshops cover but are not limited to:

* Book, Poetry & Creative Writing
* Spoken Word
* Charm and Etiquette
* Health and nutrition
* Physical fitness and yoga
* Fashion Modeling (Promotional & Commercial)
* Deejaying
* Music Engineering and Production Techniques
* Theatrical Production

The workshops take place at the National Center for Children and Families, 855 Music Group and on the day of the event at the 4-H Youth Conference Center.
