Illumination asks the question: which selves do we need to let go of in order to find redemption?

Illumination celebrates the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels, illuminated holy manuscripts from around 700 AD, to their northern home this summer.  The themes of the Lindisfarne Gospels' journey are at the heart of a play which explores death, resurrection, and the search for the truth and nature of who we are.

The play weaves visual images from the Gospels into a contemporary story to temporarily return the ancient pictures to our churches' walls.

The site-sensitive production will be staged in St Peter and St Paul Parish Church, Ormskirk.
