So, what would you say in 5 minutes?

IgniteLansing opens the community to do presentations on a wide variety of topics, like "How to grow your own food" to "How we built the giant eye". Speakers will submit a topic to the community, and the community will vote on which ones they want to see. If a speaker is selected, they will be given 5 minutes on stage to share their presentation with the IgniteLansing crowd. Their presentation is accompanied by a powerpoint presentation that changes slides every 15 seconds (don't worry, we will supply the template).

In return for submitting a topic, you will be guaranteed access to the event, and if you are selected, you will be able to compete for the coveted igniteLansing Cup! Votes are submitted by the audience via paper ballot, Twitter and SMS voting.

If you are interested, here are some dates to remember:

* Date to start submitting presentations is August 9th
* Date that we are closing the door to new submissions is August 31st at NOON.
* The community will vote for the presentations they want to see for about a week. The selected speakers will then be notified at the end of the week.
