Ignite Salem 1 June 18, 2009

f you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers and Ignite Salem offers techies in the mid-valley an opportunity to join in the fun. Ignite Salem 1 occurs 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at Northern Lights Theater Pub in Salem.

Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis. Since then, 100s of 5 minute talks have been given across the world. There are thriving Ignite communities in Seattle, Budapest, Paris, and NYC. Ignite events in Oregon have taken place in Portland, Bend and Corvallis. The deadline for Ignite Salem proposal submissions is Thursday, June 4 and can be entered at ignitesalem.com. Proposals will be reviewed and selected presenters will be notified on Monday, June 8.
