The Information Design Association in the UK is pleased to announce that IDC 2009 is open for registration.
Following an enthusiastic response to our call for papers, we have put together a diverse and international programme of speaker presentations, posters and demonstrations. Information Design is a broad field that encompasses work in graphic communication, interface design and information architecture, technical writing, and wayshowing, among other areas.
This year's conference offers an exciting variety of case-studies from design practitioners and their customers, and reports from researchers. Topics include:
• Wayfinding and signing
• Interaction design
• Health information
• Interactive systems
• Instructions and explanations
• Designing communication in regulatory environments
• Design models and techniques
• Information design history
There will also be panel debates and the opportunity to exchange views in smaller groups, to widen participation and contributions from attendees.
Once again the setting is the Restoration grandeur of the University of Greenwich in London, housed in riverside buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
