Iberia is the name of the historical peninsula which includes Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar. This concert will concentrate on music of the many great Spanish and Portuguese composers of all eras, but will also offer some little known gems from various regions such as Catalan, Galicia, the Basque Country and the Island of Mallorca. From the Renaissance era we will hear music of famous Spaniards Juan del Encina, Cristóbal de Morales, Francisco Guerrero and Tomás Luis da Victoria, while Portugal is represented by Manuel Cardoso and Duarte Lobo. Music from later eras will include composers Domenico Scarlatti, Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo.
