FREE! - After a hiatus of almost a decade, Toronto's most notorious film festival Hunka Junk makes it's debut in Richmond, VA for one screening only at Chop Suey Books on Thursday, December 30th at 7 pm. This unique night of films is curated by Dion Conflict and features a mix of classroom educational classics ("Food on the Run" and "Telephone Manners"), commercials for bygone products such as "Silly Soap," and trailers for films such as "Angels Unchained" and "Killer Snakes." Opening the show will be Richmond's own Alfred Shapiro and Jere Kittle with "Ball Meets Wall", their super 8 footage of the demolition of some landmark Richmond buildings. Ring in the new year watching this ball drop. There will be no video projection this night; these spots will be presented in glorious 16mm & super8 film. And, as a post-Christmas bonus, there will be give-aways at the intermission.
