The hilarious impressions of Indian life through Russell Peters. The funny world of Korean families through Margaret Cho. The slapstick physical humour of Bobby Lee (MAD TV). Are Asians leading the new face of comedy?

NAAAP Vancouver is pleased to bring out some of Vancouver's brightest minds in comedy from the Asian community and to highlight their unique talents - fantastic Korean comedian Paul Bae, the funny Nelson Wong from the pan-Asian Canadian sketch comedy group Assaulted Fish and the always hilarious Filipino stand-up Ron Josol are just three of our guests! They are the local leaders of their field and bring a fresh look at humour. This is one event you do not want to miss - come join us for an afternoon of insight, humour and lots of laughter!

We will showcase a sample of their materials and will follow with a panel discussion on writing and creating comedy, participating in the industry and making the transition into a field which is considered non-traditional for the Asian community. In the end, you will come away with a better sense of looking at humour inside and outside a cultural context. A list of speakers will be confirmed shortly.

NAAAP Vancouver will be hosting its celebration of Asian Heritage Month at the Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library.

Seating is limited - this event is free for NAAAP members, $15 for non-members who register before May 20th, and $20 afterwards. RSVP is mandatory through our website at www.naaap.bc.ca.

Event is located in Peter Kaye Room
