Melbourne-born multi-instrumentalist, performer and songwriter Hugo Race is an eclectic and prolific artist who has worked and lives in US, UK, France, Germany and Italy since 1988. He was a founding member of Nick Cave's Bad Seeds (1983) with whom he also worked in the final stages of the Birthday Party. He appears on five CDs of the Bad Seeds catalogue. Through the 90's he released a series of nine records under his own name with the Berlin-based musical collective The True Spirit for the Normal and Glitterhouse label, culminating in 'The Long Time Ago' double Cd retrospective released in 2001. In 1999 Hugo set up his own production base Helidex. Recording in different situations and locations from Brussels to Bologna, The True Spirit have followed a personal musical vision in a series of mutating line-ups that fuse the boundaries between blues and electronica, described by London Sounds as 'night music for the soul' and by Melody Maker as 'industrial-trance-blues'. This is an exclusive solo London gig for Hugo Race and the last date of an extensive European and Australian tour. He is going to present fresh material from his acclaimed album 'Between Hemispheres'.

Cult artist, eclectic visionary, whatever the label, Hugo Race has followed a relentlessly uncompromising artistic path since his teenage years as a founding member of the Bad Seeds (in 1983 he started playing in the terminal stages of the legendary Birthday Party and wound up appearing on five cds of the Bad Seed's catalogue) - and as leader of underground 80s postpunk rockers The Wreckery he doesn't just know music, he lives it. - Spooky Records http://www.myspace.com/hugoraceandthetruespirit

Madam is the project of singer/songwriter/producer Sukie Smith, whose abum 'In Case of Emergency' received outstanding reviews on the national press, and single 'Calling for Love' has accompanied us through the major radio stations for the past year.

'Sukie Smith, better known as Madam, has a rare ability to combine the smoky, nocturnal atmospherics conjured by PJ Harvey or Portishead or the Velvet Underground with a pop sensibility' - The Independent, One to Watch (April 2008)
'Beautiful vocals set against a backdrop of acoustic guitars show great promise and give the track a distinct Portishead feel' - Artrocker http://www.myspace.com/madammusic
