HSC Preparation: English - Standard (Part 1) Course/Class January 16, 2011

This course covers the Area of Study (Belonging), and will deepen your understanding of ideas, text and interrelationships among texts. It will help you to reach a clear and precise understanding of exactly what the Syllabus requires of you, and to refine the skills you need in order to meet Syllabus requirements. Through sample analysis of texts, discussion, group work and writing exercises, the course will focus on better understanding of core concepts, especially ways in which variation in language usage affects meaning, the relationship between form or text and meaning, techniques of close analysis, synthesis across texts and extending your understanding of the topic Belonging. You will have opportunities to discuss your prescribed text, and a wide range of related texts will also be discussed.
