Institute of HRD will be hosting a Pre HR summit event on " HR Strategy Forum - Aligning HR with Organization Strategy" at Mumbai for the benefit of Human Resources Professionals, including HR Director, HR Vice Presidents and HR Managers. The workshop will be conducted by Vernalis India, a reputed and innovative HR Consulting firm, working with clients in this area for over a decade. The details of the workshop are as follows:

Introduction:
Human resource defines employees as a resource, an asset, that provides competitive advantage to an organization, and on whom organizational success is leveraged. The HR strategy is carefully linked to the Vision, Mission and overall business strategy of the Company. A human resource strategy is devised in respect of recruitment, employee deployment, motivation and engagement, and employee retention. By doing this, an organization puts itself in the position of being able to achieve its mission and objectives through its human resources. This is the effective way of organizing the workforce by the adoption of a specific strategy, where employees' performance can help to achieve the planned organizational targets, such as increasing revenue or improving the profit margin. Programme Directors:

Mr. Abhijit Bhabhe, is a Founder Director of Vernalis and presently leads the Talent Management and Assessment Practice at Vernalis. He is naturally gifted in both academics and sports: An MBA from IIM Bangalore & a University topper in college, he is also an expert Skier, Batsman, and Table tennis player besides playing almost all sports reasonably well. Abhijit started his career with Deutsche Bank and later co-founded Vernalis owing to his interest in Management Consulting and holistic principles. His interests and contribution in Vernalis ranges from finance and strategy to research and project execution, and has participated or led the execution of over 200 projects covering Org Diagnosis & Transformation, Restructuring, Performance Management, Assessment & Development Centers, Executive coaching etc. Abhijit is a keen researcher and has contributed extensively to the maturing of the Assessment and Development practice at Vernalis. Abhijit is the co-author of two noted research papers: ‘Mapping Competency for the Future’ and ‘The Transformation of India Inc’. His contribution to the development of the path-breaking CORE methodology for the assessment process has helped transform the effectiveness and validity of assessment centers and won credit from clients. He has also contributed to the design and deployment of over 60 high-quality Business Games & Simulations at Vernalis. He combines his excellent analytical skills with an innate ability to manage client situations in a balanced manner. He is fondly recalled as an outstanding coach by numerous CXOs and Sr Managers who have had the opportunity of being coached by him in as part of the Vernalis Assessment Development Centers. His quiet manners and effective facilitation have dissolved the resistance of many participants twice his age. Gentle to a fault, Abhijit achieves great success in tricky transformation situations with his intelligence, humility, openness and commitment to fairness. The workshop on Aligning HR with Organisation Strategy stems from 10 years of his experience helping HR functions become more effective as well as his personal insights from the struggle of Organisation Transformation.

Ms. Gayathri Sivaraman has a BSc Physics (Honors) degree from Delhi University and she earned her MBA in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur. She has been working as Coordinator and Resource Person in the Human Resources and Organizational Behavior Area of the Post Graduate Executive Management Program of S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai for the last five years. She has also taught in the Bhavan’s Center for Inter-disciplinary Studies (BCIDS). She has conducted and assisted in several Management Development Programs and has been a facilitator for Personal Growth Labs. She has also written two teaching cases published with international journals. Gayathri has worked on several assignments as an independent consultant on areas such as human resource plans, assessment centers and competency mapping and climate surveys. Some work done in the past are for Halcrow India for the Marmagao Port Trust, Bank Muscat with Vernalis, Godrej Sara Lee and Ernst & Young. Her professional consulting experience includes stints with Price Waterhouse and Watson Wyatt where she has been involved in compensation surveys, developing and implementing HR processes, employee opinion surveys and conducting training programs .Her association with Vernalis started with the Development Center for BankMuscat. The processes and professionalism she observed during the course of this assignment left a deep impression on her and this led her to join Vernalis in a quest to apply her academic understanding to client situations. She is also interested and knowledgeable about Indian classical music, is a singer, has dabbled in theatre and reads widely.

Workshop Methodology
The methodology to be adopted in the workshop includes Interactive presentations, Group Exercises, Videos & Experience sharing by the resource persons and participants. Candidates are recommended to get a Laptop with Wireless connectivity to participate in a Live Strategy Game to be played and discussed in the workshop.
