The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research asks: How will emerging technologies change the world?

Advanced research is addressing some big questions about the growing power and pervasiveness of information processing devices. The answers are not what you might expect. As we reach the size of atoms, the rules of physics change and new phenomena occur as a result of the laws of quantum mechanics. A race is under way to harness these laws to use them to our computing advantage.

We invite you to satisfy your Thirst For Knowledge. Join renowned researcher Dr. Raymond Laflamme, who is the director of CIFAR’s Quantum Information Processing program, for an early evening of drinks, hors d’oeuvres and startling new perspectives.

Please come hear an approachable and accessible talk about some incredible progress being made by quantum computing researchers. You do not need a background in science or technology to attend.
