Applying for and receiving grants from the federal government is neither a quick or easy process. However, they are one of the most important sources of funds for the development of high risk high reward technology. This seminar will go through structuring your company mindset for the federal grant writing process, discussion of some specific federal programs, and review the nuts and bolts of submitting a grant application. Following that, there'll be specific discussion on the size and scope of the economic stimulus package as it related to clean technology companies and some specific industry sectors that will be benefiting from funds that are being made available.

If you are seeking grants for your life science or clean-tech businesses, you cannot afford to ignore this event. Visit www.techcoire.com to learn more and to register for this limited seating workshop.

About the Speaker

Rich Giersch is the Director of Grants with 21 Ventures, a VC firm based in New York and is an experienced grant developer and biotechnology executive. In his role as Grants Director he works with 21 Ventures portfolio companies to help identify, write, and administer grants and other forms of non-dilutive funds.

Prior to joining 21 Ventures Rich served for 6.5 years as COO to ZenBio, a profitable biotechnology company in RTP, North Carolina. In that role he developed and ran the corporate grant writing program, managed licensing deals, and handled service contract negotiations with large pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. The grants awarded as a result of the program completely covered the cost of research and development, resulted in the introduction of multiple groundbreaking products and services for the research community, and enabled the company to expand through non-dilutive revenue.
