This 60 minute online training will focus on HIPAA/HITECH Act requirements. It will help attendees prepare their organizations for periodic OCR/HHS audit by regulators.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, in Section 13411 of the HITECH Act, require HHS to conduct periodic audits to ensure covered entities and business associates are complying with the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and Breach Notification standards. The HITECH Act significantly increases the penalties and strengthens HIPAA enforcement actions, making business associates directly subject to penalties. This webinar will focus on OCR/HHS audit requirements for healthcare organizations. It will help the participants to do effective risk analysis of their organization and to prepare required documents for the audits. This session will cover the following areas:
• Document requirements by OCR /HHS
• Security requirements covered in the audit
• How to do effective risk analysis of your organization?
• Published OCR Audit Protocol
• Importance of periodic security training for the organizations’ staff
