Mars is a difficult planet to land space probes on. Why is this? How have probes been landed in the past? How is it that NASA managed to land the Curiosity Rover so precisely?
Allan Bell is a graduate engineer with a life long interest in how complicated things work and how to explain science to non-scientists.
The talk will include Earth based demonstrations of some of the techniques used.
