It was two years ago this February that a brand new variety show took the stage in New York City. It was special. It was annoying to categorize. It was so pretty and funny and gentle to the touch that it made you wish you could introduce a comedy-reading show to people as if it was your brand new boyfriend. Two years ago, the monthly How To Kick People comedy-reading series was born. To commemorate this special occasion, on February 22nd Bob and Todd are going to kill themselves.

It's How To Kick People: Bob & Todd Are Dead. A funeral service to honor the untimely pretend loss of Bob Powers and Todd Levin. Guest readers, including some of the best from How To Kick People's first two years, will be invited to the stage to present a eulogy for these two awkward young men.

Guest eulogizers will include Mike Albo, author of last year's The Underminer; Chris Regan, four-time Emmy winning writer for The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Dan Cronin, writer for Late Night With Conan O'Brian, and many more!

Proper mourning attire is requested of all audience members.

This will be a funeral procession, replete with floral arrangements, bagpipers, and maudlin expressions of indescribable loss (sobbing people jumping on caskets). H2KP does not take responsibility for any irritation caused for audience members who are allergic to flowers, who find the sound of bagpipes annoying, or who are emotionally guarded.

How To Kick People runs the last Wednesday of every month. It's a show for comedic storytellers and writers curated by Todd Levin and Bob Powers. Part reading series, part performance venue, each show is anchored by readings from Todd and Bob, and the lineup is chosen from New York's pool of authors, comedians, and performance artists.

Todd Levin is a writer and comedian. He has been seen recently on Comedy Central's Premium Blend. Todd's writing has appeared in Glamour, Salon, Modern Humorist, The Hermenaut, The New York Post and, most frequently, his own web site (www.tremble.com). Todd has performed his stand-up comedy and read his work in venues all over town, including Eating It at Luna Lounge, PS-NBC, KGB Bar, East Side Oral, PS 122, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and Beyond Words: Stories On Stage, at the Here Theater Arts Space. He is presently writing his first collection of essays, tentatively titled, The Boy With Perpetual Nervousness.

Bob Powers has been performing his standup and solo shows in New York and LA since 1996. Bob's first book, "Happy Cruelty Day," will be published by St Martin's Press in 2006. He?s performed and read at Eating It, PS 122, East Side Oral, and the Improv Olympic West. His writing has appeared in Flaunt Magazine, The New York Press, Jest Magazine and The Onion's "Say Something Funny" feature. Bob is also the creator of the website www.girlsarepretty.com.
