Windows Presentation Foundation, released with .Net 3.0 and now enhanced in .Net 3.5 and .Net 3.5 SP1, is becoming the preferred choice to build rich client applications. But, did you know that it takes a typical .NET Developer 3 to 5 months to be really productive in Windows Presentation Foundation! I dont want to scare you off, but WPF is a real paradigm shift in terms of Windows development style and methodology. In this demo rich presentation, I will explain the challenges that I encountered in building my first WPF app. I will also explain and demonstrate the "need to know concepts" to start building your first WPF app. You will find out how I cut my teeth on WPF and in turn, I hope youll be educated on how to cut your time in taking advantage of WPF!
Matt is the EAI practice lead for Objectsharp Consulting based in Toronto and is also a BizTalk Server MVP. Matt helps customers implement BizTalk, Connected Systems and WPF solutions and is also the author and instructor for a 5 day BizTalk 2006 developer course. Organized by Metro Toronto .NET User Group
The Metro Toronto .NET Users Group (MTDNUG) was formed inApril 2004to bring developers of all skill levels together to share, laugh, and grow their skills on the Microsoft .NET platform. We organize monthly events where developers just like you share their experiences and discoveries with a group of peers. MTDNUG is one of several .NET user groups in the Greater Toronto Area. Several times a year we also participate in the organization of the Toronto Code Camp which brings together members from all Toronto and surrounding area Microsoft user groups to share and build technical expertise through a full day of interactive sessions.
