The Silicon Valley workforce is extremely diverse, and every workplace here is a mix of cultures. This seminar will give you tools to understand how people of different cultural backgrounds communicate and interact differently in the workplace. You'll also learn how cultural differences in values, attitudes, and assumptions impact what management techniques and HR approaches are most effective.

This seminar will look at three key dimensions of cultural difference - direct vs. indirect communication style, preference for hierarchy vs. egalitarianism, and individual vs. group orientation. After discussion about how to think about cultural differences in the context of overall diversity, we will examine each of these three cultural dimensions and how they influence employee behavior. Cultures that we highlight will include China, India, Japan, Germany, U.K., France, Mexico and others for a global overview. We'll discuss the effects on management style and human resource practices, and how to adjust approaches to be more effective in multicultural situations.

Whether your firm is a foreign-owned one operating in the U.S., an American company operating abroad, or any company with a multicultural workforce, this seminar will have immediately applicable insights.
