About the Houston Concert Band

The Houston Concert Band is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization comprised of over sixty men and women in the Houston area who are dedicated to making a unique musical and cultural contribution to our community. Founded in 1977, we have performed in many venues including Astroworld, Moody Gardens, Rice University, The Moores Opera House, Miller Outdoor Theater and just this year at Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center. Our repertoire includes big band, Broadway, movie themes, classical music, music written specifically for concert band, and, of course, marches. The HCB welcomes musicians of high school age or older from all walks of life. Throughout our history, the Houston Concert Band has endeavored to promote high-quality performance of traditional and contemporary band literature. The impact of our outreach program has been noted time and again as music lovers, especially students, have seen that their love of music can last a lifetime.
