The Houston Arboretum is offering Children’s morning and afternoon classes on Saturday, May 21. Different classes are offered for different age groups, and include a short introduction inside followed by hands-on, engaging activities outside. Parents are welcome to participate with their child or drop them off.

Naturalist Explorers classes introduce children ages 5 to 8 to environmental and natural history topics in a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere. On May 21, Naturalist Explorers will learn the life cycle of butterflies and go in search of butterflies in the Arboretum in “Butterflies are Beautiful Bugs,” at either 9-11 a.m. or 1-3 p.m. EcoTracker classes inspire young naturalists ages 9 to 12 to explore their surroundings and deepen their knowledge of the natural world. The EcoTrackers will search for butterflies at different stages of their life cycles and learn how to attract butterflies to your backyard in “Magnificent Metamorphosis,” at 9-11 a.m.
