House Museum & Carriage Tours July 20, 2010

The Middleton Place House is the only surviving portion of the three-building residential complex. The House contains an extraordinary collection of Middleton family furniture, paintings, books and documents dating from the 1740s through the Civil War. The House Museum Tour is offered Monday 12 pm-4:30 pm and Tuesday-Sunday 10 am-4:30 pm. Carriage Tours allow guests to see this carefully preserved plantation as the Middleton family did in the 18th century. Experience the beauty of the plantation from a carriage that travels through a lush bamboo forest into scenic woodlands and around the banks of flooded rice fields. passengers can relish far reaching views of the Ashley River and marshlands, a habitat for countless wading birds, ospreys, bald eagles and alligators.
