Frets Magazine picked Bryan Bowers for their First Gallery of the Greats, alongside Chet Atkins, David Grisman, Stephan Grappelli, and Itzhak Perlman — Bowers also won their readers' poll five years straight for best stringed instrument player.

Many people consider Bowers to be the finest autoharp player who has ever lived. People Magazine says that he is "widely regarded as the leading virtuoso on the autoharp." He was the first living player inducted into the Autoharp Hall of Fame.

But Bowers is also a wonderful storyteller, songwriter, and singer. The Deseret News in Salt Lake City says "To call Bryan Bowers' performance simply a 'concert' would be inadequate if not inaccurate ... (it) could better be described as an experience!" The Washington Times says "He has more stage presence and charisma than any stage performer in recent memory."

And on top of all that, he wrote one of my favorite waltzes!
