The children’s music group Hot Peas ’N Butter, three-time winner of the Parent’s Choice Award, mixes elements of traditional Latin, Afro-Caribbean, jazz, folk, and rock. By using an interactive, energetic, and bilingual approach to performing multicultural music that doesn’t condescend to kids, Hot Peas ’N Butter inspires care and creativity in children and adults. Danny Lapidus and Francisco Cotto, both of whom grew up in New York City, formed the band in 2000. The sextet’s hit videos are staples on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., but nothing compares to experiencing Hot Peas ’N Butter in concert.
