Bronx, NY, New York

The daredevil darlings of Gotham Girls Roller Derby (GGRD), New York?s only all-girl roller derby league, will put their helmets where their hearts are and donate a portion of the proceeds from their roller derby bout on Friday, May 20th bout to the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA).

Hold onto your pork chops and tater tots ? the third bout of the GGRD season is chock full of mystery meat! The Gotham Girls have taken their regular skating lineups and done a little shake-n-bake to create two, one-time only expo teams: the Long Island Lunch Ladies and the Mott Haven Meatheads. This will be your only opportunity to see some of these skaters battle each other, and you don't want to miss it!

Expect a healthy serving of surprises including some tasty penalty showdowns, spicy music by the Shemps and Lady Unluck (fronted by GGRD?s own Suzy Hotrod), snack bar food, and a delicious Open Skate After party with music spun by DJ Neil McCoy (skate rental included in the price of admission).

Skate Key is located at 220 E. 138th Street in the South Bronx, one easy stop out of Manhattan on the 4/5 subway. From the 138th Street/Grand Concourse station, walk east on East 138 Street (under the overpass) and find Skate Key directly across the street. Doors open at 7:30pm, Game at 8:30pm. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door, and can be purchased online at http://www.gothamgirlsrollerderby.com/merch/tickets.html until midnight the day before the game.
The remaining season continues until October on the following Fridays: June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16 and October 21.
