Educulture International, a nonprofit group, has 23 Austrian high school students visiting the East Bay this April for 2 weeks and a mixed European group in August for 3 weeks.

This brief (45 minute) event will give you a chance to voice any questions or concerns about becoming a host family.

The fun part--host families/children are matched with teens having similar interests wherever possible.

If you are interested in hosting or know of a family who is, but cannot attend the event, feel free to contact me at "[email protected]."

This event will give you a chance to hear about the program and open your home to a student of a new and intriguing culture. Single women and single parents are welcome to host, as well as couples and families.

This program is sponsored by Educulture International, a nonprofit that promotes inter-cultural understanding among young people
throughout the world. http://www.educulture.org

Among the fun excursions that host families are welcome to attend:

 Local Scavenger Hunt/ Welcome Party
 San Francisco chartered bus tour
 Visit Chinatown and Golden Gate Bridge
 Tour of Alcatraz
 Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman’s Wharf
 Cal Berkeley Tour

More info:
• The students all speak English.
• Host families are asked to provide a shared or private room and meals.
• Working parents are OK – all weekdays are filled with planned activities and high school visits.
• Provide a taste of the real America outside of the movies.

If you plan to attend, please be on time! The presentation will last only 45 minutes.

Please pass this info on to anyone who might be interested. And thank you! Ashley West
