Hope Tucker, who is from Tennessee, uses stop-motion animation, super-8 film footage, and video to investigate the ubiquitous summertime icon as a window on the capitalistic impulse, industrialization, and America’s romance with the pastoral ideal. Tucker was recently an artist-in-residence in the center’s Art & Tech studios where she shot and edited parts of the video. (28 mins., video)
