Hooked! the History and Ingenuity of Sport Fishing April 5, 2007

'Hooked!' is the largest display ever of Dan Basore's legendary fishing collection. The exhibition features items dating from early indigenous cultures to the modern day. Featured items on display include antique lures, rods, creels, knives, spears, decoys, frogs, mice, ducks, novelty lures, traps, bait buckets, brochures, catalogs, flies, hooks, bobbers, awards, reels, advertisements and gaffs. The exhibit also includes some of the earliest fishing articles made in North America, including hooks, gaffs, sinkers and harpoon points from the Old Copper culture. Some of these items have been carbon dated to as early as 6000 years old!
