Bing Crosby plays a singer who retires from show business and opens an inn in Connecticut that is only open on holidays. A romantic triangle forms when Crosby's caddish ex-partner, played by Fred Astaire, visits the inn and falls hard for Crosby's new girlfriend, the lovely dancer, Linda (Marjorie Reynolds). It's a thin plot, to be sure, but it adequately serves its real purpose ? to provide a suitable backdrop for Berlin's songs - including Bing's signature tune "White Christmas." Not rated. 100 minutes.
