His Hideous Heart (CD Release) / Ponyta / The Sleeps / Tentacles July 30, 2009

His Hideous Heart is an indie rock band from Cleveland , OH . Since their first show in December 2006, they have been teetering on an avant-rock precipice. They recorded “It’s a Weird Time to be Alive” in 2007 in a basement using two microphones and panty hose as a pop filter. Then they all went to college in different cities, specifically Chicago , Philadelphia and West Lafayette , Indiana . They continued to write using computers and the internets to show their song ideas to each other. By the time they reunited in the summer of 2008, they were ready to record “Only the Earth Can Make a Tree”. They trekked across valleys and streams to record their newest songs, collectively entitled “Only The Earth Can Make A Tree”, produced by Casey Crescenzo and Andy Wildrick (of The Dear Hunter) in Providence , Rhode Island . It was officially released on April 9th, 2009 digitally, in a pay-what-you-want format, with physical copies being released at a later date. One review stated, “Now singing about the end of the world and environmental issues while creating tension with guitars and heavy drums, His Hideous Heart have pointed their music in a new direction for the future. While this EP flows by quickly, it is well paced and masterfully produced.” This summer, they plan to do a circuit of small house shows across the Midwest .
