Global Grooves at Yonge-Dundas Square presents a double bill of cool sounds on Friday, August 6:

Hip Hop Karaoke (7:45pm – 9:15pm): This is not “Ice Ice Baby” over a stripped down muzak beat in the back of the bar, complete with bouncing ball and cornball graphics. Hip-Hop Karaoke is the prime opportunity for closet MCs to finally grab the mic and bust their favourite raps live on stage with an accompanying DJ and a feel-good, no attitude vibe where the emphasis is placed on having fun. Arrive early to select from hundreds of classic jams and flex your lyrical skill!

King Sunshine (9:30pm – 10:45pm): King Sunshine illuminates disco roots and drops inflections of funk and dance rhythms, reinventing house music and driving the whole fusion over the red line. Imagine nine musicians transformed into one live DJ, mixing their songs together into one continuous seamless set of music. People have described their concerts as deep and moving and "a powerful, unforgettable, rhythmic experience". The weather’s always beautiful on the dance floor!
