High Heel Dash March 10, 2012

Women -- and yes, men! -- will kick up their high-heeled stilettos, pumps and platforms as they race to find a cure during Richmond’s debut of the Komen High Heel Dash, Sat. March 10, 4 PM at the Shops at Innsbrook. Hosted by the Central Virginia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the High Heel Dash participants will sprint 50 yards in their heels of choice. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest and the “best dressed” racers. There is no admission for spectators, who will begin gathering at 3 PM for the festivities. Race participation is open to the public at a $10 entry fee. Registration is available on line at www.KomenCentralVA.org or on the day of the race at the Shops at Innsbrook starting at 3 PM. Teams, spectators and creative costumes are encouraged! The first annual High Heel Dash, which is sponsored by Saxon Shoes, will bring attention to the importance of breast health and education because every 74 seconds, somewhere in the world a women dies of breast cancer -- the most prevalent cancer among women today.
