Conceived and produced by Boxcar, High Contrast Comedy is the antidote for mainstream, mass produced stand-up comedy.

High Contrast Comedy began in Seattle, Wa and ran from Feb 2003 through April 2005 at the Seattle Comedy Underground. Incorporating video, live music, sketch comedy, improvisational comedy, stand-up and social and political commentary, High Contrast Comedy was the de facto standard bearer of inventive, ground-breaking and alternative live comedy in Seattle.

An attempt to create an environment where intelligent, often political and socially aware comedy, and unique performers can perform free from many of the constraints of playing mainstream stand-up rooms. In the past, evenings of High Contrast have included video presentations, sketch & improv groups, musicians, poets and writers. High Contrast initially will remain primarily stand-up -- although i do expect to evolve it in the new year.

High Contrast Comedy is currently seen every Wednesday at the San Francisco Comedy Club at 50 Mason.
