Last May, six patrons of the Library's 8th Floor Music Practice Rooms were given a 'break,' with an invitation to perform in a public showcase. They each appreciated the opportunity and the audience that day was pleasantly entertained, so the Library is doing it again - inviting six different patrons. Participants this year are (in alphabetical order): Peter Beck, trombone; Claudius Edwards, piano; Robert Frenier, tenor voice; Jean Marie Garofolo, coloratura soprano voice; Sara Jones, violin; and Dan Windolph, clarinet. Rather than just play their music unseen and unheard by anyone in the Practice Rooms, it's their chance to appear on-stage at a major, big-city venue - in the Library's beautiful Cindy Pritzker Auditorium - using high-quality sound equipment and with professional piano accompaniment.
