Heroes Night June 29, 2011

All though this is not an open invitation event I thought it would be nice to tell you what are cubs are planning to celebrate armed forces day.

We are having a heroes night. The children will be making posters and presentations about someone/ a group of people they admire and who they believe have done a good turn.

Our 35 Cubs have great respect for our Armed Forces, as they are firstly part of a Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scout Troop, a status only given to 100 sea scout troops in the country, but also also have 2 leaders from our Scout troop who both serve in the Royal Navy, as well as many other former and current scouts in all 3 forces.

We believe it is important in this day and age for the younger generation to understand what our Armed Forces do. This appreciation is shown through a very large attendance each year for Rememberance Day Parades.
