ahdanco, and the Shawl-Anderson's Dance Up Close/East Bay Series, presents "here, look", an evening of new works choreographed by Abigail Hosein, taking place over two weekends, and featuring performances by members of the Oakland Poetry Slam, Aaron Gardner and Nazelah Jamison, and new music by Scott Simon.

With choreography described as powerfully elegant and haunting, ahdanco's current work explores the many ways in which we narrate our experiences. Six new works by Hosein will be set in an intimate space, seating 50 people per show, allowing the audience to have an up-close and personal relationship to the dancers and the dances.

Hosein's work is said, by Rita Feliciano, to "employ a well-chosen imaginative vocabulary which produce[s] choreographies with emotional resonance." (Voice of Dance, March 2008) "here, look" is designed to open up and provide entry into the human psyche in an overtly narrative way that lets one reflect on, relate to, asses, empathize with, and accept those things that separate and/or attach us as human beings coexisting in a chaotic world.
