Henry Grimes And Friends October 2, 2010

Legendary bassist Henry Grimes returns to Los Angeles with an evening of music featuring drummer Alex Cline, pianist Ben Rosenbloom, trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith, vocalist Dwight Trible and reedman Vinny Golia. In the 1950s and 1960s, Grimes collaborated with jazz greats such as Albert Ayler, Miles Davis, Benny Goodman, Sonny Rollins, Cecil Taylor, and many more. This is Grimes’ first LA appearance since 2004 and the resumption of his top-flight music career. Dwight Trible will open the show with pianist John Beasley.
