Lovely, love-struck Mahi, a high school student whose parents only want the best for her, falls hard for the handsome bicyclist who rides through her rural neighborhood and sometimes stops to chat. His name is Heiran, and because he's an illegal Afghan immigrant Mahi's family considers him the worst possible candidate for marriage. But the headstrong kids won't be deterred and they take off for Tehran to be married. There Mahi's innocence and Heiran's vulnerability combine to make their life far less idyllic than they imagined.
