Based on the French magazine "Heavy Metal..." and featuring a soundtrack that lives up to the name, the film begins with an Astronaut flying in from space on a corvette to his home. He is greeted by his daughter, and he presents her with a gift that he got from his travels. Once he opens the case and reveals the glowing green orb (the Loc-Nar) he melts into a jelly skeleton pile, and the orb rolls itself over to the girl and tells her that it is the embodiment of pure evil-- past, present and future. The film then depicts the Loc-Nar's stories, in mind-boggling animation...
